I don't think any real damage is being done. The Honj Masamune, a legendary samurai sword, created by the master swordmaker Gor Masamune between 1288 and 1328 AD. A so-called "ruta del oro" (golden route) extends for 350km through the region's waterways and into the neighbouring Amazon and has drawn prospectors for centuries.
